For the Record:

The Fourth of July. The day we officially declared our independance from a corrupt, imperialistic foreign government. It seems strange to think that, not more than two hundred and fifty years ago, we were little more than a backwater colony of a vast empire. And now, we are the premiere power in the world. Funny old world, isn't it? A different type of diplomacy, and we would be like Canada. (Insert shudder here.) But history took its course, and here we stand: Free and damn proud of it. We cut our ties to the crown, and made our own fortunes. Now the United Kingdom is our ally, instead of our master. Strange.

Today we celebrate our freedom, which we won with our own blood and sweat.

I may piss and moan about problems with the government and its various branches, but I do it because I love this country. This country, which allows me to speak my mind. This country, whose own fundamental list of rights guarantees people that they will be treated decently. This country, that promised long ago never to debarr its citizens the right to arm themselves for defense against incursion, both foreign and domestic. I am proud to be an American, and I will always stand against those who would try to encroach on, or try to restrict, these rights. Any politicians who would are not worthy of their positions, and should be stripped of their ranks. Like the Navy commercial says: Life. Liberty. And the pursuit of all who oppose it. Hoo-rah.

God Bless America. God Bless the men and women of the Armed Forces. And Fuck Those Who Say Otherwise.

Salaam Aleykum, Bitches!
