Hijo de la chingada.

Yes, I am quite aware of the fact that I have not updated in a spell. But, as I stated in my last post, things have been unpleasant at best. But, such is life. On to business!

I was hanging out with Frostbyte, watching the news, when we were both snapped to attention by a headline: Words from the new Pope infuriates Muslims. What's this? What, what? Beni's starting shit with the Muslims? We waited on the edge of our seats until the end of the commercial break, jiggling with curiosity (Enjoy that mental picture!). Lo and behold, the news then plays a recording (translated) of Beni the whatever's speech in which he says some inflammatory (but true) things about the prophet Muhammed. Naturally, the Islamic world was pissed, just like it always is when the prophet is mentioned by anyone other than a Muslim. Granted, the Pope retracted his statements yesterday, but the thought is still out there. For a few brief moments, disaster seemed imminent.

Consider for a moment:
Muslims get pissed
Muslim extremists explodify the Vatican
Every Catholic in the world converges on the Middle East
Kaboom ensues

That may be a little unrealistic, but not enough for me to laugh about it.

Long story short, life continues to get more interesting, regardless of whether or not I want it to.

I miss my donkey.

This has been a shit week. Here is why:

1. My Political Science class is a total wank. The teacher, who I suspect is a closet racist, does little more than ramble on for the better part of the hour. Whenever he says something vaguely inflammatory, and someone challenges him, he doesn't argue. He simply backs down and says,"Well, you may be right. I don't know." I was hoping, beyond all hope, that Poli-Sci would be chock-full of rousing political debates; a veritable stronghold of liberal thinking where I could plant myself in the middle of the room and challenge all to a verbal sparring match, taking all comers. Instead I'm stuck in a fucking lecture, listening to some dessicated old fart pontificate on the importance of polls and graphs.

2. Feisty Ninja has gone off to college, leaving me to fend off the boredom at work by myself. Well, not by myself. I still have Frexican, Frostbyte, The Whimsy Clerk, and Hombre de Leche. Not to mention my adopted daughter, the Average Asian; she's not actually my daughter, but she says I'm like a second Dad to her, so she becomes my daughter by default. Now granted, I just listed a whole bunch of people that keep things interesting, but Feisty Ninja just made my day every time we worked together. She will be sorely missed in the weeks to come. Hopefully she'll be back at Christmas.

3. I am almost continually running on no more than six hour's sleep.

4. Poquito Rojo returned to parts unknown (and Gonnorrhea-infested).

5. My funds are rising very slowly. Textbooks really take a bite, in case you were wondering.

6. Grandpa has taken a turn for the worse.

That is all for now.
